Challenge

Supply chain management is fraught with the challenge of ensuring real-time tracking accuracy across a sprawling, global network, integrating various tracking systems to work in unison. The challenge extends beyond just real-time visibility; it encompasses the harmonisation of disparate technological systems, each with its data formats and protocols, into a unified, interoperable framework. The necessity to synchronise multiple technologies—RFID, GPS, IoT—requires a solution that can handle the dynamics of logistics, massive data volumes, data security, and adherence to international standards.

To confront this challenge, a strategic approach was adopted, focusing on the development and implementation of a comprehensive, integrated tracking system. This solution was meticulously engineered to provide precise, real-time data and ensure seamless communication across all supply chain touchpoints.

Solution

Our team, skilled in the nuances of supply chain logistics and information technology, embarked on the project by conducting an in-depth analysis of the existing challenges and potential data sources. This preliminary phase was critical in laying the groundwork for the subsequent stages: system development and testing. We crafted a neural network model that predicts encoded vectors for goods tracking, ensuring the measurement of logistical data points within a common vector space.

By leveraging unlabeled data from the client and open-source databases, the team innovative ways to extract valuable insights from the tracking information. Success was achieved by tackling indirect tasks such as visual classification and tailoring these solutions to the complex requirements of supply chain management. The final phase involved experimenting with a broad spectrum of computer vision techniques, including both high-level and low-level graphical processing, which significantly refined the model's capability to provide real-time tracking and interoperability solutions.
